The Wonder of Clerkenwell Design Week

24-05-2018

Clerkenwell Design Week is the UK’s leading independent design festival and showcases examples of new design ideas from over 300 brands originating from the UK as well as overseas.  Clerkenwell is home to diverse, cutting-edge architects and designers and last week thousands flocked there to celebrate the most ambitious designers in the interior design world. Along with the exhibitions, there were plenty of stalls offering food and drink to sample whilst admiring the innovative installations and products. Many of our employees visited Clerkenwell Design Week this year, including Zoe Smithson, Interior Designer at Office Profile.

Whilst perusing through the different exhibitions, Zoe noticed that many of the designers were using pastel colour palettes for their seating which is sure to be a trend for 2018/19. Fabric nightclub was transformed into the lighting showroom, glowing from wall to wall by the unique lighting creations with concertinaed lampshades taking centre-stage. One showroom that definitely caught everyone’s attention was Camira who had sheep camping outside – Camira specialise in beautiful wool fabric which explains the sheep! Biophilic displays with real moss integrated within the structure also made an appearance which looked strikingly similar to the moss feature walls our Design Team created for Tower Hamlets Homes.

A selection of images from the show are in the slider below. We look forward to attending the 10th Clerkenwell Design Week next year!
