Coulter Partners

Coulter Partners approached Office Profile to redesign and refurbish their reception area. This included partitioned an area off from the reception to create a hot desking office space, along with fitting a tea point between the reception and meeting rooms.

The Brief

Our designer had very little briefing from the client, apart from to create a new reception design that was modern and clean. The design team created a neutral colour scheme of grey and white which would give a modern, understated atmosphere to the area.  A challenge of this project was that the offices were to remain fully functioning whilst the refurbishment was taking place. Therefore we ensured there was minimal disruption to staff during the project.

We stripped out and redecorated the whole area.  Where the panelling was removed we created the new tea point and put down grey vinyl flooring over the area to tie in with the grey and white theme to be implemented. New carpet tiles were also laid down in a conference room. In the reception area we also changed all the lighting to make the area light and airy, which created a welcoming, modern and professional reception area.

What we did

The client wanted to create a private, but light, hot desking area.  We installed frosted glass partitioning with a woodland-themed pattern in grey shades to allow the light to come through from the area behind.  We also supplied a modern grey and white dual-level DDA compliant reception desk in the reception area along with a black sofa with grey back, which provides a comfortable seating area for visitors

The tea point featured capacity storage units with chrome handles which matched the theme and looked modern and minimalist. We installed a white speckled Velstone worktop which is durable and easy to clean along with an inbuilt coffee machine and dishwasher.  Underneath the units we installed plinth lighting which looked contemporary and kept the corridor light and hospitable to both employees and visitors.

The project took 2 weeks to complete and the client was pleased with the end result and the transformation from their previous wood panelled reception to their new modern, clean and stylish area.
