The Brief

Office Profile were approached by Techspace to refurbish an office area for their tenant, Squawka. Techspace provides flexible workspaces for startups and scaleups, and Squawka is a fast-growing and innovative tech company providing football scores, statistics and news. The refurbishment was both CAT A and CAT B fit out including washrooms, kitchen and a dining and breakout area. During the CAT A phase, we stripped out all the existing fixtures and fittings, flooring, lighting and other facilities. We replaced the raised access floor which allowed cables and pipes to be run underneath and carried out many services to get the offices into a suitable state to be furnished and decorated.

The area was to be fitted out in a rustic style yet modern layout with the whole area “zoned” to distinguish the difference between the breakout, office, kitchen and dining areas.

What we did

The working areas consisted of black operator chairs and white bench desks with power and data installed accordingly. There were blue bar stools in the kitchen to create a hint of colour for the relaxation area, without being too bright and intrusive into the natural colours of the fit out. These were matched with blue pendant lights. There were also blue and charcoal fabric sofas and brown distressed leather sofas paired with minimalistic coffee tables as lounge break out areas or for informal meetings. We supplied ping-pong tables also for separate break-out rooms.

Pendant lights in different finishes were used to good effect to highlight the different zones and accentuate the industrial theme. We used digital screens and illuminated signage in the reception and outside the front of the building to provide a strong branding presence and clear directions giving a friendly and informative user experience.
